The HMK Team is expanding and we’ve recently recruited new Application Engineer Usman Azar.

Job Title: Application Engineer
When did you join HMK? August 2021
What does your role involve? I’m in the pre-sales team, so it’s about understanding customer requirements and the application, and then sizing equipment to meet their specification
Previous experience and areas of expertise? I have five years Industrial Automation experience, working with a variety of manufacturers and products from PLCs, drives, HMIs, temperature controllers and safety relays.
Why did you want to join HMK? I wanted to further develop my skillset and understanding, and also work on motion control projects, applying my theoretical knowledge in a practical environment. With Covid, a lot of industries are looking to incorporate technology in the workplace, so it is a great industry to be a part of.
How you finding the new role? One word – fantastic. It’s great to be able to work alongside industry experts who have decades worth of experience and knowledge.
What’s the best thing about working at HMK:My colleagues - not just in the department I work in, but in all the departments as everybody works together as one team and it’s a great working environment. Training and support is readily available and it’s in a great location in Congleton.
Proudest achievement: Becoming a father and completing a BENG (Hons) in Electronic Engineering
