Siemens announce update to SINAMICS S120 Motor Modules

The phase out of the existing SINAMICS S120 Bookcase motor modules from 3A to 30A has been announced, effective from 1st October 2016 with discontinuation from 1st October 2017. The C/D type motor modules should be used in preference.

Due to the change in the motor connector, C/D type modules are not currently a direct spare part replacement and will require the motor cable to be re-terminated. From January 2017, a motor cable adapter kit will be made available to resolve this.
