Responding to the anticipated growth within the engineered drives and motion control market in the coming years, Siemens has doubled its motion control capabilities.
A new partnership has been forged with HMK Technical Services to address the demands from the OEM and System Integrator sectors, while a newly formed team from within Siemens will focus on market development and specification within the End User markets.
Following 15 years of business partnership with Siemens, HMK has been elevated to a full Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies Distribution partner with motion control responsibility. HMK is responding by investing in additional sales and technical staff, together with establishing a southern office in High Wycombe.
HMK takes the substantial Siemens motion offering and compliments this with one of the largest mechanical product and solutions offerings available today. "These mechatronic packages are what our customers are demanding," comments Carl Krajewski, Managing Director of HMK. "We are now partnering OEMs to develop complete machine solutions and essentially outsourcing or closely complementing their technical departments."
Together this forms an unrivalled 40 man team offering presales consultancy and post sale technical and commissioning support. The focus is to ultimately deliver solutions for improved operational efficiency, energy saving, environmental care and safety.
This new partnership was launched by Hans-Rainer Knobloch, Global head of regional management for Motion Control systems and Andrew Peters, UK Divisional Director of Drive Technologies from Siemens, during a recent visit to the HMK Cheshire headquarters.
